Custom solutions for moving heavy loads
Moving heavy loads with precision and reliability requires solutions that are tailored to the specific application. ALFATEC develops and supplies guide profiles designed for high static and dynamic loads, enabling precise and durable linear motion even under demanding conditions.
Each guide profile is optimally matched with the corresponding guide bearing to form a reliable guidance system. With decades of engineering experience, we support our customers in designing complete linear guidance solutions – from initial planning through installation to maintenance and service.
Guide profiles – perfectly matched with our guide bearings
In linear motion systems, guide profiles play a crucial role. They provide the stable and precise guidance required to move loads safely along the desired path. Together with the corresponding guide bearings, they ensure smooth motion, optimal force transmission and long service life.
ALFATEC offers a wide range of guide profiles for different requirements and applications. Selecting the right profile ensures precise and consistent movement, while the matching guide bearing guarantees reliable load transfer into the guidance system.
What types of guide profiles are available?
Guide profiles are used in numerous linear motion applications across many industries – from lifting systems to conveyor installations. Because every application has its own requirements, ALFATEC offers several profile types designed for different loads, environmental conditions and accuracy levels.
This variety allows us to provide the optimal solution for each project and ensures reliable and precise motion in demanding industrial environments.
Profiles for Tiger bearings – reliable solutions for many applications
Our standard profiles provide a robust and economical solution for a wide range of applications. They are manufactured from 18MnNb6, a micro-alloyed fine-grain steel with additions of niobium and vanadium, ensuring excellent wear resistance and good weldability.
These profiles are suitable for loads of up to 10,000 kg and are available in several versions depending on the application: mill finish, precision straightened, sandblasted or as precision profiles for higher accuracy.
Precision profiles – maximum accuracy and durability
ALFATEC precision profiles are designed for applications where maximum accuracy and wear resistance are required. They feature machined running surfaces and are manufactured from micro-alloyed fine-grain steel with niobium and vanadium.
The milled guide surfaces ensure extremely precise motion and long service life. Thanks to their fine-grain structure, these profiles also offer excellent weldability, making them suitable for a wide range of precision applications.
Stainless steel profiles – corrosion-resistant precision
Our stainless steel profiles are manufactured from 1.4301 INOX, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them ideal for demanding environments.
Available as U-guide profiles, they form a reliable system together with the corresponding guide bearings and fastening components. Even in harsh environments, these profiles deliver durability, corrosion resistance and low maintenance requirements.
Mammoth profiles – designed for extremely high loads
For applications involving exceptionally high loads, we offer Mammoth profiles. When combined with Mammoth bearings, they can handle loads from 10 to 200 tonnes and beyond.
These profiles are welded from multiple sections and precision-machined, ensuring maximum strength and reliability. They are always produced as custom solutions with lengths of up to 8 metres, tailored to the requirements of each project.
Xtra-Strong profiles – guide profiles for extreme loads
Our Xtra-Strong profiles are engineered for applications requiring maximum load capacity and precision. Compared to the standard profile, they allow up to 60 % higher load capacity while maintaining extremely tight chamber tolerances of only 0.2 mm.
Even after more than 100,000 load cycles, no measurable wear occurs. This outstanding durability results from the use of 25MnV5mod, a high-strength vanadium alloy steel that provides exceptional hardness and strength.
Calculations of Hertzian contact pressure between the guide profile and Tiger bearing confirm the significantly higher load capacity compared with the standard design.
ALFA-Speed profiles – ideal for quiet and smooth handling
For applications requiring high speeds, low noise and minimal rolling resistance, ALFA-Speed bearings and profiles provide the ideal combination.
They are suitable for loads from 10 kg to 3,000 kg and offer excellent abrasion and wear resistance. The cold-formed profiles are available in lengths of up to 8 m and allow guide bearings to run on one side.
They also operate reliably within a temperature range from –30 °C to +80 °C.

Modular systems and custom manufacturing
Flexibility and cost efficiency are essential when designing linear and conveying systems. That is why we rely on a modular system that allows efficient and cost-effective design of customized solutions.
In addition to guide profiles, we supply ready-to-install assemblies including guide bearings integrated into fastening systems as well as matching guide profiles. Our portfolio also includes complementary components such as fastening elements, clamping brackets and spacer elements.
If none of our standard products meet your specific requirements, we manufacture custom components according to your drawings and specifications. With our expertise and experience, we ensure that your linear guidance systems operate smoothly, precisely and reliably.
