Aerial Work Platform for Railroad Cars
The pneumatically powered aerial work platform from ALFATEC enables ergonomic and safe working when sanding railway carriages, even with large components and in compliance with explosion protection requirements.

Thorough sanding of surfaces is necessary for optimal painting of railway cars. Due to the large dimensions of the cars, a flexible system is required that allows work to be carried out in all positions.

Drive and freedom of movement
The aerial work platform operates at an operating pressure of 6 bar and can be moved along three axes:
- Stage process over 15 m
- Lifting and lowering from 400 mm to 3,650 mm
- Telescoping the basket
The basket moves at a lifting speed of 2 m/min, while the platform travels at up to 30 m/min. The compact design, with a retracted length of 640 mm and an extended length of 2,280 mm, ensures a high degree of freedom of movement and reduces physical strain on workers.
Load capacity and operation
The platform can carry loads of up to 150 kg. It is operated using joysticks or foot pedals in the lift car. An external emergency release on the lifting column provides additional safety.
Safety and maintenance
Tested safety systems ensure accident-free working. Compressed air reservoirs enable the platform to be lowered safely even in the event of a compressed air failure. Maintenance-friendliness is supported by the use of Tiger rollers and ALFA-Speed rollers.
