Linear Unit Cross-Travel Unit
How can multiple conveyor lines be controlled with just one chain conveyor without wasting unnecessary space? A compact linear unit was developed specifically for this requirement, which moves the chain conveyor transversely. This allows products to be sorted and forwarded in a space-saving manner.

Challenge: Minimise height, maximise load capacity
Since the conveyor technology had to be installed close to the floor, a particularly low overall height of the linear unit was required. At the same time, a load capacity of 1,300 kg had to be guaranteed. The ALFATEC solution achieved an overall height of only 250 mm, which is a decisive advantage because the customer can install the conveyor technology directly on the floor without additional mounting.

Powerful and compact drive technology The linear axis travels at 0.4 m/s over a length of 4,300 mm and is driven by a rack and pinion. The energy chain guide and rack drive are integrated centrally in the linear unit. Robust and durable ALFATEC guide components are installed, ensuring high availability with minimal maintenance.
